Mud Creek Memorial Tree Planting
We hosted the 14th annual tree planting ceremony this past Saturday at Mud Creek (South Chatham) in memoriam of the beloved pets of Chatham-Kent that have passed. This is an annual event that takes place every October.
The property at Mud Creek has been generously donated by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and this year we planted 19 trees in memory of pets that have passed. The short ceremony included the reading of the pets’ names and presentation of memorial certificates to the pets’ families. The trees that were purchased by clients and organized by the Chatham-Kent Veterinary, were then planted along Mud Creek.
In addition to the trees, stones with pets’ names were placed at the end of Mud Creek Trail and a ceremony dedicating the trees in the pets’ memories took place. In the 14 years that Chatham-Kent Veterinary have been memorializing Chatham-Kent’s pets there have been over 210 trees planted.
Everyone is welcome to walk this trail and enjoy the trees and appreciate the love and memories of owners who have planted trees in memory of their special pets.
